General Terms and Conditions of Velvet Stories

Article 1 – Definitions

The following terms apply within these General Terms and Conditions:

  • Withdrawal period: The time frame within which the consumer may exercise their right to withdraw from the contract.

  • Consumer: A natural person not acting in the context of a commercial, business, or professional activity who enters into a distance contract with the entrepreneur.

  • Duration transaction: A distance contract for a series of products or services delivered over time.

  • Right of withdrawal: The option for the consumer to cancel the agreement within the withdrawal period.

  • Entrepreneur: The legal or natural person who offers products or services remotely to consumers.

  • Distance contract: An agreement concluded between the entrepreneur and the consumer through distance communication techniques.

  • CESOP: The Central Electronic System of Payment Information, introduced by the EU to monitor cross-border payment services.

Article 3 – Applicability

These terms and conditions apply to every offer made by the entrepreneur and every distance contract concluded between the entrepreneur and the consumer.
Before a distance contract is concluded, these terms will be provided to the consumer either electronically or in writing.


Article 4 – The Offer

All offers are non-binding. Velvet Stories reserves the right to adjust offers at any time.
All product images and descriptions are for guidance only and may slightly differ from the actual products or colours.
Every offer clearly states the total price, including shipping costs, customs duties, and any fees charged by the postal or courier service.


Article 5 – The Contract

The contract is formed once the consumer accepts the offer and meets the applicable conditions.
Velvet Stories will immediately confirm the order by email.
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to secure electronic transactions and protect consumer data.


Article 6 – Right of Withdrawal

Consumers may withdraw from the contract within 14 days after receiving the product, without giving any reason.
The consumer is responsible for the return shipping costs when exercising this right.


Article 7 – Costs in Case of Withdrawal

Velvet Stories will issue a full refund within 14 days of receiving the returned item, provided that the item is in unused, undamaged condition and in its original packaging.


Article 8 – Customs and VAT Regime

Velvet Stories applies the postal and courier VAT regime.
Customs duties and import VAT, if applicable, may be charged by the delivery service in the consumer’s country.
No VAT is charged at checkout under this regime. Velvet Stories will inform the customer about any potential additional charges.


Article 9 – CESOP Compliance

As of 2024, under EU regulations, payment service providers are required to report relevant transaction data to CESOP.
Velvet Stories complies with this regulation, which may impact how payment data is processed and monitored.


Article 10 – Conformity and Warranty

Velvet Stories guarantees that the delivered products meet the agreed specifications and relevant legal standards.
Defects must be reported in writing within 14 days of receipt.
Returned products must be in perfect condition and in their original packaging.


Article 11 – Delivery

Velvet Stories handles orders with the utmost care.
Delivery typically takes 6 to 12 days after dispatch. You can track your shipment via the “Track Order” page on our website.
If delays occur, Velvet Stories will inform the customer within 14 days of order placement.
Unless otherwise agreed, orders will be delivered within 21 days.


Article 12 – Complaints Handling

Complaints must be submitted in writing within 7 days of the issue being discovered.
Velvet Stories will respond to all complaints within 14 days. If additional time is needed, we will provide an estimated resolution timeline.


Article 13 – Disputes

These General Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of The Netherlands.
We aim to resolve disputes amicably whenever possible. If legal proceedings are necessary, disputes will be brought before the competent court in The Netherlands.
